[Updated with time, below.] The Argyll Mausoleum team at Kilmun in Cowal been asked to help celebrate the wedding this Friday, 31st May 2013, of two people they describe as ‘a lovely local couple’, John Hughes and Esther Williams.

John and Esther are evidently ‘mad keen medievalists’ and are having a medieval wedding reception at Graham’s Point this Friday – which is open to the public.

There will be a fencing tournament, archery, games, birds of prey, a burger van (ye olde) and plenty more.

Argyll Mausoleum will be running a games tent.

Everyone interested in the fun and in being part of what will be a great communal celebration is invited to be there, to spread the word and to be ready to raise a glass to the happy  – and very imaginative – couple.

Children are particularly welcome and should enjoy the activities – probably with a particular fondness for the stocks.

Update: 19.00: The gathering begins at noon and continues until either 6pm or as long as people remain un-drowned by weather. BYOB and while there will be a burger van, it might make best sense to bring your own food.
